The nQuire platform serves to provide a sandbox for those people interested in science and research. Participants can take part in research projects or author a project themselves. nQuire was developed in partnership between The Open University and the BBC.

My role was to work with an external agency; Clearleft, to develop a user experience (UX) strategy. I helped form user stories and a site narrative. We developed user personas and gave the project some personality.

The planning phase led to a design and develop phase. The site was built using agile project management methods. I wire-framed and sketched scenarios whilst developing style-tiles to unravel what the site tone of voice should be. Later the sketching moved to Adobe Illustrator artwork for accurate views of responsive layouts before collecting the work back into design patterns and ultimately into a more atomic visual vocabulary.
